A double nave medieval church with beautiful views across the Vale of Clwyd, is it any wonder that William Wordsworth visited regularly and stayed next door?
To sit inside there is a calming simplicity to the church, a great place to sit and gain inspiration for your poetry or just meditate quietly and let the stresses of the world lift from your shoulders.
For the inquisitive there are some interesting features such as the statue of the pelican feeding her children, do you know the story of how this was adopted as a Christian symbol? Or the 18th century Plas Drew pews, imagine the lords and ladies in their finery, with a curtained section behind where their servants sat – a very different world!
Eglwys ganoloesol corff dwbl gyda golygfeydd hyfryd ar draws Dyffryn Clwyd, a yw’n syndod bod William Wordsworth yn ymweld yn rheolaidd ac yn aros y drws nesaf?
Mae yna mae symlrwydd tawelu writh eistedd y tu mewn i’r eglwys. Lle gwych i eistedd a chael ysbrydoliaeth ar gyfer cerdd neu fyfyrio’n dawel a gadael i straen y byd godi o’ch ysgwyddau.
I’r chwilfrydig mae yna rai nodweddion diddorol fel y cerflun o’r pelican yn bwydo ei phlant, a ydych chi’n gwybod y stori am sut y cafodd hyn ei fabwysiadu fel symbol Cristnogol? Neu seddau Plas Drew o’r 18fed ganrif, dychmygwch yr arglwyddi a’r merched yn eu dillad, gydag adran llenni y tu ôl i eistedd eu gweision – byd gwahanol iawn!
