Newsletter for Pentecost

Hi All

I hope everyone is enjoying half term and Eisteddfod week.
This Sunday marks the end of our Easter celebrations as we switch our liturgical colour to Red for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
It is a wonderful feast and good reminder to us that our faith is about much more than just gathering on Sundays as the Holy Spirit turns the gathering of the gathering of all the followers of Christ from a holy huddle that fitted in a single room to evangelists who shared their faith. From the day of Pentecost onwards you would never be able to again gather all the followers of Christ in a single building because they would never fit.
As we celebrate Pentecost it is good to see so much going on in our churches that bring others into encounter with the church and give us that chance to share the faith which means so much to us.
We’ve begun putting up our Summer events on the website, there’s plenty more to add to it in the coming weeks so do keep an eye on it and check regularly for more events –

This weekend we’ve got a few things going on –
Saturday in Llanarmon, 1pm to 4pm we’ve got a nostalgic exhibition of old wedding dresses, a chance to get together and enjoy a panad a cake and a chat with each other, maybe swapping stories of love and our own wedding days…
On Sunday, as well as our regular round of Sunday worship we also have –
2.30pm Camanfa Gan in Nant Clwyd Y Dre
6pm in Llanychan a special service of Evensong followed by cheese and wine for the jubilee.

Then on the 7th there is an exhibition of hundreds of photographs of Elizabeth II in the parish rooms in Ruthin. The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 4pm until the 19th of June. Do drop in and take a look around.
Saturday the 11th, we’ll be in the churchyard in Llanbedr at 2pm for Wild Church where we will be having activities looking forward to the feast of Corpus Christi
Saturday the 18th of June, Llanychan church invite you to a panad in the gardens of Plas Coch, with stalls, raffles and refreshments. Open from 10.30am to 1pm.
And on the 25th of June, Rev’d Natasha will be being ordained to the priesthood in the morning at St Asaph Cathedral. Do come and join us in Llanbedr Church in the afternoon at 4pm as she celebrates her 1st Mass.

There’s always loads going on and I don’t always get to hear about everything, so please do make sure that you or your focal minister email Paul Chamberlain or myself with the details and any posters/pictures in plenty of time to get them in the newsletter and website. And after any event, all the clergy have access to the Dyffryn Clwyd Facebook page and are able to post what’s going on before and after events so we can reach more people and let them know of all the fabulous things going on in and around our churches!
