Newsletter for Sunday 19th June and message from Fr Huw

Please find attached this weeks newsletter – and of particular note are the many summer events coming up in the next few week. Summer when it arrives is such a short spell of time and we all like to make the most of the outdoors.  It’s been another busy week with plenty going on for the clergy and members of our congregations across Dyffryn Clwyd.
Don’t forget that Rev’d Natasha will be being ordained to the Priesthood on Saturday 25th of June, and Alyson Goldstein & Dan Morgan to the Diaconate on July 2nd. Please do keep them and all who are to be ordained this Petertide in your prayer. And come along on the 25th of July at 4pm to Llanbedr Church as Rev’d Natasha celebrates her 1st Mass!  Please see event Bright for free tickets if you could book it will help with catering

Do look at the website for more information about summer events and fundraising on the web site https://dyffrynclwyd.co.uk/worship/summer-fun for more events, they are being added to regularly. Have a look at the summer concerts in St Saeran’s church Llanynys.

We had a meeting of Treasurers on Thursday ahead of the MAC next week and as we approach mid-year in our planning cycle it is concerning that a number of churches will struggle to end the year in balance, without using up reserves of capital.   St Peter’s and Llanfwrog will be the two churches to pilot the a new way of managing the finances by making the most of the Finance software treasures use, but in a more using friendly way. Freeing up busy church officers to be doing the important work of mission and reaching out into the community.

Also on Thursday we had the review with the Archdeacon, looking at our Mission Area Action plan which we developed in summer of 2020.  Since that time it has grown and changed to include the new activities and signs of growth in our mission area. Whilst this is an encouraging story of Hope – none the less there are churches and congregations that are facing some difficult challenges and decisions this year as part of the review. The latest pastoral letter from the Bishop also on the website is encouraging as we learn to Trust God, allow Him to grow our Faith, as we face the future together.

During the week we have our usual round of services and activities, mid-week Eucharists, morning prayers, choir, song schools and drop in Friday. We also have a new mums & tots group on Wednesday morning in Llanfair DC. So why not bring a friend along to share in our Sunday worship, or to a summer event. Our fund raisers are an important part of mission and growth and can demonstrate to those not familiar with church, a worshipping community proclaiming the Gospel of Christ here in Dyffryn Clwyd.
Apologies its is late and l will get the hang of it again, soon!
