Newsletter for Sunday 7th August 2022

Welcome to our newsletter where you will find a number of events coming up in the month of August for you to look out for. 
 
Thank you to everyone who supported Llanynys church and attended thier season of Friday evening summer concerts. Over a thousand pounds was raised to support the church, the choir and musicians who treated us to some beautiful music.  Thank you to everyone who made it such a success. 
 
In this coming week, St Peter’s Drop-in-Friday continues with a Stay, learn and perform a play theme on Friday 5th August.  
 
Saturday 6th The Feast of the Transfiguration of our Lord, you will find us on the first of two pilgrimage walks, planned for August.  We start from St Cynhafal’s church and walk the old pilgrims way – better know today as Offa’s Dyke – to St Peter’s Llanbedr church. During the walk we will take time for prayer stops and meditation along the way. We meet a 9.30 am at St Cynhafal’s church and expect to arrive at 1.00 pm in Llanbedr. Bring a packed lunch to enjoy in the churchyard tea coffee hot chocolate etc. available from the church. 
 
In the afternoon 6th August Llangynhafal have the first of their August Saturday afternoon teas 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm in the refurbished church. There will be tea coffee and scones – all donations to the churches community projects. 
 
On the 8th August Fr Huw will lead a group of people on a pilgrimage to Walsingham and the Anglican shrine to Our Lady of Walsingham. Please pray for those attending and the driver Fr Huw, that it will be a time of renewal and that they may return refreshed, both physically and spirtually. 
 
On the 14th August St Mary’s Cyffylliog will be celebrating thier patronal festival by having a Sunday lunch together in the Red Lion pub Cyffylliog after the morning Eucahrist at 11.00am.  Do let Rev John Searl know if you would like to join them for lunch, so he can book numbers contact him on johnsearl@cinw.org.uk
 
On the 14th August you can join Llanfair church for thier annual Pet Service in the churchyard at 11.00am 
 
Dyffryn Clwyd singers will resume after a short summer break – they sing a wide variety of styles including secular folk and sacred music. So if you have an interest in singing with a community choir and would like to learn more, new members are always welcome, so do look in on Tuesday 16th August 7.00 pm at Llanbedr church. 
 
Llanychan look forward to welcoming you to thier Hymns and Pimms evening together on Sunday 21st August. With some wonderful hymns for everyone to sing, and an appearance by some of the Dyffrn Clwyd Singers. 
 
Towards the end of the month we have Praises in the Park another pilgrimage walk, and a Teens day in Clocaenog celebrating creation, watch out for the eventbrite link to book. More to follow.
